Guernsey Makes The News

During May, we achieved 68 pieces of coverage in UK national and regional mainstream and specialist travel media, totaling a gross circulation of almost 55 million, with a PR advertising equivalent value of over £800k.

As a snapshot, key themes promoted were:

- armchair travel & virtual travel escapes
- Liberation Day 75th anniversary celebrations
- remote escapes and island getaways
- flight-free and multi-generational breaks
- wildlife breaks

The #GuernseyTogether promotion also hit the headlines, with articles appearing in The Telegraph and the Mail on Sunday, with Dr Brink also appearing on the Lorraine Kelly show.

Proactive PR activities are ongoing and we continue to reach out to national trade and consumer media with press releases and media pitches.

Travel Weekly Coverage

Trade press liaison and activity also continues, with coverage achieved in Travel Weekly Magazine during May, focusing on tips for selling Guernsey staycations.

Trade Networking Events

VisitGuernsey attended and participated in the ANTOR (Association of National Tourist Office Representatives) 'Meet the trade' virtual event earlier this month, during which one-to-one meetings were held with new potential operators. The event was attended by 150 delegates, including tour operators and travel agents.
