Return of foreign currency services at Guernsey Post’s new St Peter Port home

The new site offers BATIF bureau de change and houses a new museum, open from the end of July.

23 July 2025

At the start of this month, Guernsey Post moved their St Peter Port premises from the North Plantation building to 7 Commercial Arcade.

The move brings several beneficial changes for visitors and locals, including Saturday opening hours, greater convenience (thanks to a more central location) and the return of foreign currency services in town, including a convenient buy-back option.

Customers can also purchase up to £500 worth of euros or US dollars over the counter.

In addition, the new branch will feature a range of gifts tailored for tourists and a curated selection of stamp collectables.

There will also be a new postal museum on the top floor of the building, which will open at the end of July. The museum will showcase the island’s rich postal and philatelic heritage.
