Annual Permits Private Dwellings

For the provision of Temporary Visitor Accommodation in other Premises.

A private dwelling can be used as a holiday let, for example if you rent your house out when you are on holiday away from the Island, for up to a maximum of ten weeks over the course of a single year.

Permits granted in these circumstances are limited by Condition and are not valid for continuous use.

They are granted on condition that planning use restrictions are not abused. Permit holders should be aware that breach of conditions could result in enforcement action by States regulatory authorities, and this will be taken into account by the Committee when considering any subsequent permit applications submitted by the same applicant, or in respect of the same premises.

A short-term permit may also be granted for temporary visitor accommodation provided in other types of premises – for example glamping units on a campsite. More information about this can be downloaded below.

Sign into the Marketing & Tourism Application Portal.

Use the Short Term/Dwelling Application button under the Accommodation Applications Tab to open an application.
