Condor Ferries announces new timetable for 2023

Condor Ferries has confirmed details of its schedule for 2023 which provides travel for Islanders, supports the local visitor economy and builds on the success of sailings from the UK last Summer.

26 October 2022

The timetable, which has just been launched, will continue with direct services to Poole in the peak season and at other times, triangulate with Jersey to improve inter-island connectivity.  Direct services from the UK proved successful in bringing in additional car volume this year versus 2019 and in 2023, there will be an increase in the number of day trips to the Island.

Over features include an increase in St Malo sailings in Spring whilst the commitment to the new Cherbourg route continues. The schedule also includes non-sailing days across the network that were used as a contingency in case of weather disruption.

John Napton, Condor’s CEO, said that the timetable was designed to bring travel confidence back to the Island after the pandemic.

‘This year, our schedule contributed to a successful summer for the local tourism and hospitality industries and that would not have been possible with our previous timetable.

‘We have consulted with groups such as the Guernsey Hospitality Association, Guernsey Tourism Partnership and Visit Guernsey and tried, wherever possible, to accommodate the Island’s sporting, motor and other events, including the Island Games next year’,  he said.

Alan Sillett, President of the Guernsey Hospitality Association, commented: ‘The GHA is appreciative of Condor for listening to the concerns of our members and for working with us as one of its many stakeholders.’

President of the Committee for Economic Development , Deputy Neil Inder, said:

‘We’re pleased to see the new schedule includes increased capacity during peak times and more day trips, which we hope encourage even more travel for both Islanders and visitors as we continue to build on the tourism sector’s post-pandemic recovery.  Outside of the core summer season, the increased Jersey and St Malo connectivity is also welcome.  We appreciate the challenges for Condor in producing a schedule that works for all of their customers which isn’t easy.  I’d like to thank them for their ongoing engagement with us and with our local industry.’

Condor’s timetable, which is effective from 05 January through to 31 October 2023, can be viewed on their website.
