Creative Sark's June Workshop Week is back

A range of events will be taking place from 6-13 June.

19 May 2025

Creative Sark, a charity created in June 2013 by Amanda Petrie, arranges a week of creative workshops every June. The June workshop week has now been running for 5 years.

The workshops are appreciated by both residents and visitors, thanks to the variety of different interest strands. There is a large range of workshops on offer again this year, including Tai Chi and electronic music Himalayan Singing Bowl Therapy.

Gardens

Some of Sark's most beautiful gardens will be open to the public during the weekend, plus Garden Sketching and a Permaculture Garden Talk and Walk at Grand Dixcart.

Textiles

For those interested in textiles, there will be the opportunity to use a fibre card loom and try wet felting. You can also make your own fabric twine, mats and covered hangers at an upcycle session, learn the techniques of Macrame and create a Seascape in Fabric and Stitch.

The two pottery workshops are also not to be missed.

Language and arts

There’ll be a Creative Listening Skills workshop during the week, as well as workshops for writers and poets, plus a tour of the famous Seigneurie to see the displayed art, some beautiful antique furniture, and more.

Food, drink and celebration

Highlights of the week will be a chocolate-making workshop at Caragh's Chocolates (sure to tempt all), as well as the open-mic night at The Old Hall.

The week will conclude with a Sark veille in the medieval Cider Barn, where participants bring a bottle and a plate of food to share, and enjoy an evening, entertained by each other, music, singing and poetry.
