In March, Guernsey was represented at international cruise conference, Seatrade Cruise Global, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
26 April 2023
Amanda Johns, Cruise Guernsey’s Business Development Consultant attended on behalf of VisitGuernsey to meet with and introduce the world’s leading cruise operators to our award-winning port of call.
The three-day exhibition and conference, which is held annually took place from 28th to 30th March. It is the largest gathering of the cruise industry hosting more than 500 exhibitors and over 80 cruise line brands.
The event gives an opportunity to talk with a variety of cruise brands across the industry in a setting that encourages representatives to explore new destinations such as Guernsey as well as talking to those cruise lines that already include St Peter Port within their itineraries.
Amanda said:
“It was interesting to talk to industry contacts about their plans for including Guernsey in their itineraries and hear about the trends and wishes of passengers. For example, we are aware that visitors are seeking more unique, ‘off the beaten track’ experiences when they arrive.”
The Islands of Guernsey have approximately 95 cruise ships scheduled to visit during the season of 2023, with 12 of these being inaugural visits.
This season is expected to be an exciting one, with key developments for the Islands’ cruise industry. Any cruise operators wishing to learn more about the Islands of Guernsey as a port of call should email cruiseguernsey@gov.gg.
