Guernsey Ports are hoping to attract more independent travellers to visit the Island this season. The team have been busy developing a more visitor-facing brand, under the Guernsey Marinas umbrella, dedicated to promoting all the benefits Guernsey can offer to the yachting community.
In 2024, more than 19,000 visited on a yacht trip, an increase of 11% on the previous year (view here). New visitor facing social media accounts have been set up and are growing organic content ( Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn) with targeting marketing campaigns planned for this summer season. A new Guernsey Marinas website is also in development with a planned go-live date of early May, all planned to help boost marine tourism.

Assistant Harbour Master & Head of Leisure, Kieran Higgs said:
‘This initiative is about more than just attracting visitors; it's about building a sustainable and vibrant marine community that benefits everyone. We are excited to embark on this journey and look forward to welcoming boaters from around the world to experience the magic of our islands.’
Following an offer-led promotion to UK marinas, he said the team were expecting a busy marina for Liberation Day, the first major event of the year.
The team will also attend the St Malo Boat Show on 24-27 April to promote the island and build relations further with Normandy & Brittany marinas.
If you have an offer, please send it in to guernsey.marinas@ports.gg or call on 01481 220654, between 8am and 4pm, Mon-Fri, to discuss.
