Channel Islands airline Blue Islands has commenced its new Newcastle service this week, providing direct connectivity between Guernsey/Jersey and the North East with up to three direct flights a week throughout the summer.

To mark the inaugural flight, Newcastle Airport welcomed the Blue Islands aircraft and crew to celebrate the exciting new route before welcoming the passengers on board.

Rob Veron, CEO at Blue Islands said, “Direct connectivity is vital for our communities. Our new Newcastle service offers convenient access to the North East from Guernsey and Jersey, and complements our existing options via Southampton. We also look forward to welcoming more visitors to our beautiful islands, supporting inbound tourism in the Channel Islands.”

As well as providing year-round connectivity for the Channel Islands on its core network, Newcastle is one of two new Blue Islands routes for 2025, with the first Paris flights commencing on 22 May, complementing the airline’s established summer services to Dublin and Norwich.

To celebrate the start of the Newcastle service, there’s 10% off all seats, with fares from £82.99 one way, including hold luggage, when booked by Sunday 11 May at www.blueislands.com
