Art for Guernsey announces a summer season of Andy Warhol
From 27 June - 6 September, a selection of Warhol's artwork will be on show at Mansell Street.
27 June 2025
From today, a selection of artworks by Andy Warhol and artists whom he inspired, or with whom he worked directly in his studio The Factory, will be on show at the Art for Guernsey Gallery.
'The Wonder of Warhol' will see a rotation of pieces in the Julius Baer Strong Room, including works by Deborah Kass and Steve Kaufman, as well as works created by Warhol himself.
There will also be some informal talks with local artists and experts on Warhol, as part of Art for Guernsey's 'Conversations with...' series. Details are due to be announced soon.
The 'Wonder of Warhol' can be seen alongside 'Diversion', a new exhibition which also opens to the public today. This exciting show features contemporary and street art, which will be complemented by the transformation of Mansell Street into a vibrant street art canvas by visiting and locally-based artists.
Warhol (1928–1987) was an American artist and filmmaker, and an initiator and leading figure in the Pop Art movement. Famous for his colourful, mass-produced images of celebrities and everyday products, he challenged traditional art by blending commercial and fine art. Warhol’s studio was a hub for artists and celebrities, and his work remains influential in contemporary art and culture.
