TMB workshop

Last week the Tourism Management Board met to share, and discuss, the newly established core principles with an invited group of representatives from the industry.

25 April 2023

The aim of the workshop was to advise and consult with around 50 individuals representing all areas of tourism, including (but not exclusive to) events, attractions, accommodation and transport, from the Islands of Guernsey. The working groups were led by members of the board as follows:

  • Charlie Walker - Accommodation
  • Ian Vaudin - On island transport and excursions
  • Clare Crowson - Carriers and ports and other islands
  • Jon Bisson - Events
  • Keith Beecham - Product

Hannah Beacom, Chair of the Tourism Management Board, said, ‘This was a really encouraging and positive start. I look forward to working together to deliver our key principles of productivity, competitiveness and stewardship. We are keen to collectively drive a new strategy forward in a positive direction and improve the visitor product and experience, setting aspirational yet achievable goals.’

The presentation slides from the event are available to view here.

The outcomes from the workshop will be used to develop the strategy. The TMB will also arrange future events for the local industry to collaborate.
