VisitGuernsey and Islands Unlimited launch Jersey-focused campaign

VisitGuernsey and Islands Unlimited collaborate on multi-channel marketing campaign to attract visitors from Jersey

06 June 2025

Following the launch of Islands Unlimited's new inter-island service, VisitGuernsey is pleased to unveil a dedicated three-month marketing campaign targeting Jersey, running from June to August.

The new high-speed service connects St Peter Port and St Helier twice daily, with an additional third sailing on weekends, offering a fast and convenient way to travel between the two capitals. To encourage day trips and short stays in Guernsey, VisitGuernsey is rolling out a multi-channel campaign across the following platforms:

  • Digital Advertising: Meta (Facebook & Instagram), YouTube, and Google Display

  • Print: Double-page spread in the Visit Jersey guide

  • Out-of-Home (OOH): Video advert on the Clocktower screen in St Helier

  • Website Promotion: Special offer featured on VisitGuernsey.com

We're confident that a strong mix of digital, print, and out-of-home advertising will help us reach both Jersey residents and visitors, promoting the unique island-hopping experience and showcasing Guernsey’s rich history, vibrant culture, and exceptional food and drink scene.

Digital Advertising

Using platforms like Meta, YouTube, and Google Display allows us to test a variety of creative formats and continuously optimise the campaign based on performance. We anticipate the campaign will generate over 500,000 impressions per week. Each advert directs users to the Islands Unlimited website, ensuring a seamless user experience and increasing the likelihood of bookings.

Visit Jersey Guide

A premium double-page advert on the inside cover of the Visit Jersey guide enables us to reach a different demographic than our digital efforts. The upcoming June–August edition, with a print run of 60,000, is distributed at key arrival points including Jersey Airport and Harbour. A follow-up Autumn/Winter version (September–December) will also feature updated creative and maintain the same print volume.

Clocktower Digital Screen

Located at the heart of St Helier’s shopping district on King Street, the Clocktower screen attracts an average weekly footfall of 150,000. Our 20-second advert will run daily for 13 hours across the 13-week campaign. Digital out-of-home advertising has been shown to be 2.5 times more effective than traditional formats, with 48% of viewers more likely to take action after viewing an ad.

VisitGuernsey Website

Our campaign directs most traffic to VisitGuernsey.com, which received 459,903 visitors as of 20 May - an 18.53% year-on-year increase. Of these, 106,555 were referred to external partners such as hotels, carriers, and tour operators, marking a 20.49% increase year-on-year. Islands Unlimited has now been featured on both our “Sail to Guernsey” and “Inter-Island Travel” pages. We're also highlighting a special offer: kids travel half price.

This campaign marks an exciting step forward in strengthening ties between the islands and encouraging more seamless travel between Guernsey and Jersey. By showcasing everything Guernsey has to offer - whether for a spontaneous day trip or a longer escape - we aim to inspire more Jersey residents and visitors to hop across and discover something new.
