Participation is open to any premises preparing and selling fresh food to visitors from an established venue.

This can include Bar Meals, Cafes and Kiosks, and Fast Food Outlets, as well as more formal stand-alone restaurant dining options.

Participants pay a registration fee which is followed by a “secret diner” assessment against the “Taste” criteria which are delivered on a regional basis across England. Successful applicants (those that exceed the fairly stringent minimum expected standards in all key areas of assessment) receive an accreditation award.

For the avoidance of doubt, these awards are totally separate to any activities or initiatives undertaken by the Eat Drink and Be Local (EDABL) events group (although we do work closely with them, to promote the fantastic food offer here in the Islands).
